let's make cereal treats!
Spray a large bowl with cooking spray or rub with butter or Crisco. Add Rice Krispies cereal.
Also line an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan with non-stick foil and set aside. You may also grease the pan or use lightly-greased regular foil.
In a saucepan, melt salted butter on medium-low heat. Remove from the heat as soon as the butter melts.
Add Nutella and marshmallows. Return to the stove-top over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until melted and very smooth.
Remove the pan from the heat just the before the marshmallows are fully melted and stir, using the residual heat to completely melt the marshmallows. This will prevent you from scorching the mixture.
Pour the Nutella, butter, and marshmallow mixture over the cereal. Stir gently until the mixture is very well combined. Transfer to the prepared baking pan.
Use a spatula to evenly press the cereal treats into the pan. Let cool completely, about 2 hours. You may also chill in the refrigerator. Cut into squares.

In the UK at least, we have Maltesers spread, Crunchie spread, M M spread etc! They would all work perfectly in place of the Nutella. You just need to make sure that when you are making the rice krispie base of the butter and marshmallows, to take it off the heat before you add the spread. If the spread gets too hot it can split!

Thanks for the great tip. Spreads became popular here a few years ago, but unfortunately, many manufacturers like Hershey's and Reese's stopped making their spreads.
