Whereas other colors are more forgiving, note truly vibrant purple is difficult to achieve with food coloring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gel paste food coloring, which is more concentrated, is available in craft stores, online, and some supermarkets. I recommend <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Pzfb24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Americolor Soft Gel Paste Electric Purple. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also use a mix of primary <strong>liquid coloring<\/strong> (blue and red), found in many supermarkets, to achieve the secondary purple color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the Rice Krispies to a greased, large bowl (use cooking spray or butter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Line your baking pan with non-stick foil or lightly-greased parchment or foil. Set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To make Rice Krispie Treats on the stove-top:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Start to melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and heat, stirring frequently, until almost all of the marshmallows have melted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove from the heat and stir well until very smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To make Rice Krispie Treats in the microwave:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Place the marshmallows and butter in a greased, microwave-safe bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat for 1 minute and let sit for a couple minutes. Stir very well until smooth and melted. If needed, microwave for an additional 15 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">mix up your treats:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Add a few drops of purple gel paste food coloring OR a combination of red and blue liquid food coloring, and stir well. Add additional drops to get your preferred shade. Stir very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, I used gel paste food coloring, a mix of Regal and Electric Purples.
