2 ⅓ cups Rice Krispies cereal
2 tablespoons salted European butter
5ounces marshmallows (about 20 regular size OR 3 cups of mini)
1ouncecrushed freeze-dried strawberries
Instructions
Spray the baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
chocolate layer
First, prepare the chocolate layer. Spray a large bowl with cooking spray, add the cereal and set aside.
Grease a saucepan with cooking spray. Place the butter, marshmallows, and chocolate chips in the pan. For a richer chocolate flavor, stir in 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder.
Place the pan on low heat and melt, stirring frequently, until the marshmallows and chocolate are almost all melted. Remove from heat and continue to stir until the marshmallow and butter mixture is very smooth.
Pour the mixture over the cereal and stir until well blended. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and gently press evenly.
white chocolate layer
Grease a large bowl and place the cereal in the bowl.
In a greased saucepan, place the butter, marshmallows, and white chocolate chips. Follow the above instructions for melting.
Pour over the cereal and blend well. Press the layer in the pan over the chocolate layer.
strawberry layer
Grease a large bowl and add the crushed strawberries and cereal.
In a greased saucepan, place the butter and marshmallows. Follow the above instructions for melting.
Pour over the cereal and blend well. Press the layer in the pan over the white chocolate layer
Let the treats set and cool for 1 to 2 hours and cut into 16 or 25 pieces.
Notes
Crush strawberries in a food processor or place in a Ziplock over a dishtowel and crush with a rolling pin or mallet.
