Chocolate-coated Rice Krispie Treats decorated to look like chalkboards with white chocolate chalk letters and numbers, powdered sugar chalk dust, and caramel frames.
Grease a large mixing bowl with butter, or spray it with cooking spray, then pour in the Rice Krispies Cereal.
Begin to melt the butter in a medium-large saucepan set over low heat.
Add 16 ounces of marshmallows.
Stir the marshmallows occasionally until about ¾'s of them are melted.
Then remove the pan from the heat, and continue to stir, smashing the marshmallows, until they have all melted.
Pour the melted marshmallows over the cereal and toss to coat.
Spread into a well-buttered or sprayed, non-stick, 9 X 13-inch pan.
Set aside to cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into 18 rectangles.
Spread a thin layer of Black Candy Melts over the surface of a Rice Krispie Treat.
Freeze the coated treat and a parchment paper-lined baking tray for 3 minutes.
Remove the pan and quickly spread a thin layer of black candy melts over the paper then press the rice krispie treat, black side down, into the wet chocolate.
Let the chocolate begin to harden for 10-20 seconds.
Use a sharp knife to cut around the edges of the treat.
Freeze for 3 minutes.
Remove and break off the excess chocolate around the treat.
Allow the treats to come to room temperature.
Break a bright white candy melt wafer in half.
Use the pointed edge of the candy melt to write letters or numbers on each chocolate-coated treat.
Brush a thin dusting of powdered sugar over the surface of the chalkboard.
Peel both pieces of paper off a caramel apple wrap.
Use a well-greased pizza wheel to cut thin strips of caramel.
Cut the caramel strips into lengths that will fit the four sides of your treats.
Press the caramel frame onto the treat.
