Rice Krispie Treat Bundt cake

I adore this clever Rice Krispie Treat Bundt cake. It’s easy to make and is such a fun alternative to a traditional cake.

To make the Rice Krispie treat cake, simply take any of our cereal treat recipes (for 9 x 13-inch baking pans) and use a Bundt cake pan. I used our BEST Rice Krispie treat recipe.

But I think Nutella cereal treats or chocolate cereal treats would be amazing as a cake.

how to make a Rice Krispie Bundt cake

You will need:

RICE KRISPIES CEREAL

Use the classic cereal or any store-brand version.

MARSHMALLOWS

You will need 16 ounces of marshmallows. Different brands have different densities, so it’s best to use a scale or the weight printed on the bag as a guide, but in general, 16 ounces of marshmallows is 68 to 70 regular size OR 9 cups of mini.

BUTTER

For best results, we recommend using European-style, salted butter.

SPRINKLES

Sprinkles are optional, but I love the fun look. I found unicorn sprinkles on amazon, but you may use any of your favorites. I’ll also provide some alternative toppings below.

TOOLS YOU’LL NEED:

  • 9-inch Bundt cake pan (8-inch should work too)
  • non-stick cooking spray

SUPPLIES AND INGREDIENTS

STEP 2: melt the butter and marshmallows

In a large saucepan, start to melt 6 tablespoons salted butter.

Add 16 ounces marshmallows (about 68 regular-sized marshmallows OR 9 cups mini).

Heat over low, stirring occasionally, until about 75% of the marshmallows are melted.

Remove from heat and continue to stir, using the residual heat to fully melt the marshmallows. The mixture should be completely smooth.

Fold the mixture into the cereal and stir to coat the cereal completely.
